Young Promoters

Two sub-programs are devoted to pre-start-up and start-up businesses in downtown Montreal, offering non-refundable grants to entrepreneurs under the age of 35.

Entrepreneurs should have experience or training in their business project’s field, and should work full time for their company.

Young Promoters: Start-up

The SDEVM (CLD) may grant from $6 000 up to $10 000 per entrepreneur and a maximum of $20 000 per project.

Financial Contribution

The grant should be devoted to:

1- Either the creation of a first or second business by the entrepreneur:

  • Capital expenditures (long-term assets, equipment, etc.)
  • Technology acquisitions (patents, software, etc.)
  • Working capital needs forecasted for the first year of operation.

2. Or the acquisition of a company.

Young Promoters: Training

The SDEVM (CLD) may grant $1000 per entrepreneur to pay for training to an entrepreneur who benefits from a Young Promoters grant. Training should be relevant to the business project.

Fees covered:

  • Registration costs
  • Educational materials
  • Other justified expenses.

CONDITIONS:  Personally invest from $6000 to $10 000.  Also, the company should be based in the SDEVM’s (CLD) territory for at least 2 years.

NOTE:  For businesses located on the SDEVM territory, Young Promoters program could also be offered through SAJE Montreal-Metro.
