SOLIDE

The Société locale d’investissement dans le développement de l’emploi (SOLIDE Ville-Marie) manages a venture capital fund designed for emerging businesses in downtown Montreal. SOLIDE Ville-Marie’s goal is to create and maintain quality employment downtown and encourage the growth of small and medium-sized companies.

Admissibility

  • The company shall be a legally constituted for-profit enterprise;
  • The business shall be located within the Borough of Ville-Marie;
  • The company shall invest at least 20% of the project’s costs;
  • The company shall be completing its start-up phase or be in a growth phase;
  • The business shall be operating in the secondary sector (manufacturing) or service industry (high-tech, computers, engineering, software);
  • The company shall be profitable;
  • The business shall create quality employment.

Terms

    • Financing shall be between $25 000 and $50 000;
    • The loan shall be reimbursed in equal payments over the financing period;
    • The interest rate shall be a minimum of the chartered bank prime lending rate plus 3%, and shall be negotiated case by case;
    • The percentage of dues on sales shall vary according to each request.
